Abstract

Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka (1923 - 2014) jest amerykańską filozof polskiego pochodzenia, jednym z czołowych przedstawicieli fenomenologii dwudziestego wieku. Tymieniecka była prezesem Światowego Instytutu Wyższych Studiów Fenomenologicznych z siedzibą w Hanower, New Hampshire w Stanach Zjednoczonych oraz redagowała dwie serie wydawnicze: Analecta Husserliana. The Yearbook of Phenomenological Research oraz Phenomenological Inquiry. A Review of Philosophical Ideas and Trends. Przyjaźniła się i współpracowała m. in. z Romanem Ingardenem, Janem Pawłem II i Janem Marią Bocheńskim. Tymieniecka stworzyła własny system metafizyczny, którego centralną ideą jest koncepcja onto-poiesis, opisującą rzeczywistość jako jedność łączącą wszystkie istoty żywe w ich twórczym rozwoju. Niniejsza praca przedstawia biografię filozof, najistotniejsze wątki jej filozofii, jak również sposób w jaki polsko- amerykańska filozof rozwinęła ideę onto-poiesis. Porusza kwestie dotyczące istoty rzeczywistości, miejsca człowieka i innych istot żywych w świecie oraz ludzkiej kondycji, świadomości, kultury i duchowości. Poszukuje znaczenia idei onto-poiesis dla poszczególnych wątków filozofii Tymienieckiej.

Anna-Teresa Tymieniecka (1923 - 2014) is American philosopher with polish descent, one of the greatest phenomenologist of 20th century. Tymieniecka was a founder of World Phenomenology Institute for Advanced Research and Learning and editor of Analecta Husserliana. The Yearbook of Phenomenological Research and Phenomenological Inquiry. A Review of Philosophical Ideas and Trends. Her associates and friends were (among others) Roman Ingarden, John Paul II and Jan Maria Bochenski. Tymieniecka founded her own metaphysical system, with the most fundamental idea describing this system - idea of onto-poiesis. Onto-poiesis brings forth the idea that universe is unity of all living beings in their creative work. My work presents Tymieniecka's biography, the most important notions of her philosophy and describes a way that Tymieniecka had been developing idea of onto-poiesis. Furthermore, my dissertation presents concepts of reality, place of human and other living beings in the world and human condition, consciousness, culture and spirituality. It describes the importance of idea onto-poiesis for main concepts in Tymieniecka's philosophy.
