In Cracov Voivodeship villages is now proceeding a redistribution of employment as consequence of industrialization
and greater demand for labour in town and industrial centres.
The author presents a detailed analysis of following indices in their geographical redistribution: agricultural and
non agricultural employment (in percent of population) of individual communities (in correlation with the average
size of individual husbandry with woman’s-rural work taken into consideration; employment in rural work in percent
of total population and in relation to corresponding area of arable land with male rural labour made evident. Three
zones in Cracow Voivodeship have been established on the ground of mentioned analysis: agricultural in the N.-E.,
peasant workers in the N.-W and Central parts, and a diversified rural zone in the South. That differentiation in
the socia-economic structure of the Voivodeship villages in the end of the first fifteen years of Peoples Poland is
presented in a map drawn according to comunities. That socio-economic regionalization is supplemented with
introductory characteristics of employment structure in each separate zone.
