The article is a sketch of tendencies observed in the general development of morphological forms in the southern
part of Częstochowa Highland and is supported a number of selected examples. The principal rock carved features
display pre-quaternary elements laid bare in parts where the overspread had weathered away. These exhumed relicts
yield to further destructive processes as well mechanical (dismemberment of big forms) as chemical (smoothing
rounding of sharp edges). Higher levels submit to further denudation of surfaces, a process enhanced by the,
economic activity of man. Steps are most strongly exposed to levelling out. Slopes are modelled by rock mechanics
and by erosive processes by which coverings are attacked. In main valleys, still cushioned by accumulated sand,
processes of erosion are more destructive in hilly parts, where dells of ravine and ditch types are formed.
Two parallel processes are in progress at present: a further destruction of exhumed forms and, on the other hand, a
further clearing away of pleystocenal overspread and revealing of ancient carvings.
