Zbieranie, hodowla i konserwacja krajowych zwierząt bezkręgowych

Abstract

The paper is of advisory character and is intended for biologists engaged in teaching. Directions are given for the search, in their natural habitats, for suitable specimens of invertebrate animals, their culture in laboratory conditions, and their preservation. In the systematic approach, the paper deals with representative species of particular groups of Invertebrates easily obtained in Poland. The animal groups discussed by the author include: Unicellular Animals (Protozoa); Fresh-water Sponges (Spongia); Coelenterates (Coelenterata) — hydras, jellyfishes; Flatworms (Plathelminthes) — turbellarians, flukes, tapeworms; Aschelminthes (Aschelminthes) — roundworms, rotifers; Annelids (Annelida) — polychaetes, earthworm, leeches; Crustaceans (Crustacea) — phyllodods, copepods, ostracods, isopods, amphipods, decapods; Arachnids (Arachnida) — spiders, false scorpions, harvestmen, mites; Myriapods (Myriapoda); Insects (Hexapoda) — winged and wingles; Mollusks (Mollusca) — snails, bivalve mollusks. Some methods of preparing dilutions of formalin and alcohol, used in preservation of animals, are given in the introduction.
