Abstract

From among the known methods by which the concentration standard is calculated, the author has chosen and discussed the method suggested by E. Luchter and S. Wacławowicz, which is relatively sampler, less elaborate and at the same time more accurate than any other. It has been applied to gauge the differences in the location of the inhabitants of the Rzeszów Province. It is noticeable how the standard varies according to the extent of particularity in the administrative division upon which the author’s calculations have been based. Moreover, the author discussed the application of the concentration standard in the existing literature on geographic and economic subjects.
