Organizacja przestrzenna i działalność instytucji i organizacji usługowych rolnictwa w Tarnobrzeskim Rejonie Siarkowym

Abstract

The article presents the results of the author's research carried out in the Tarnobrzeg Sulphur Region (in the District of Tarnobrzeg) on outposts and institutions which attend to agriculture (breeders and planters’ branch associations, trading institutions, establishments for technical and zootechnical servicing of agriculture, and financial institutions). The author deals with the location of the different institutions and outposts, with their activities, and with the agriculture-serving centres within the Region. In the recent years there has been noted in the area a rapid growth in the number of institutions which cater for agriculture, and an accompanying development of their material base. This being the situation, there is felt a growing call for coordinating the investment activities of the different institutions, so that it may be properly organized within the whole Sulphur Region. In fact, a number of cases is noted when the particular types of service in stitutions and organizations are blatantly at variance - as regards their localization - with the socio-economic conditions of agriculture, altered under the effect of the sulphur industry. The new service centres are established chiefly in settlements of larger type, i. e., in towns and communal centres. They become thus the principal service centres of agriculture, which does not always correspond to the actual economic demands of the District.
