The paper discusses the results of research on Chloropidae fauna carried out in 1966 on two balks adjoining rye-
and-potatoe cultivations and on a control natural meadow in the vicinity of Niepołomicki Forest near Szarów.
18 species of Chloropidae were collected. The smallest number of species was found on the meadow.
Chloropidae constituted 18-31% of the total number of Diptera collected with a quatitive dipper. The dominant
species was Oscinella frit. Other numerous species were: Cetema elongata and Meromyza saltatrix (9-12% of the total
number). The analysis of the collected material showed the dependence of the number of Chloropidae species and
their numerial force on floristic composition of biotopes and the adjoining balks. Particularly large number of
Oscinella frit. was found in spring-time on the balk adjoining young rye cultivation.
