Abstract

The paper contains descriptions of mouth apparatuses of chosen specimens of insects as regards their adaptability in connection with receiving particular kinds of food. Beside rather well-known types of mouth apparatuses of insects there is a description of the mouth apparatus of Staphylinus cesareus Ced. noted for the asymmetry of mandibles. The problem needs further discussion. There exists a strict connection between the structure of the discussed mouth apparatuses and their function and the way of receiving food.
