dc.description.abstractThe paper presents a project of using the problem of defining and classifying symmetry groups of plane ornaments in teaching mathematics at various levels. Some of these problems are considered on examples concerning two levels, i.e. the level of 12 years old students (analysis of an experimental hour: concrete manipulations, the stage of verbalization, the stage of structural grasp) and that of upper secondary forms (mathematical and pedagogical project, sketch of a method of finding and proving the theorem stating the existence of exactly 17 different groups of plane ornaments, suitable to be treated in upper secondary forms).en_EN
