The article presents the analysis of a small group of surnames with the formative including the -k component. The outcome of the analysis is the conclusion that the formative is highly productive in its formation of the majority of secondary surnames on the territory of Nowy Sącz in the 19th century. The most frequent formatives are -ski/-cki with a clear outer and patronymic functions. The second position is occupied by the formative -ek, next -ko having also patronymic functions. The remaining formatives, that is -ik/-yk (-czyk), -ak, as well as the least frequent formative -uk perform the hypocoristic, patronymic and augmentative functions.en_EN
