Rhymes hinder modernization of word forms. Therefore old forms have been preserved in rhymes of proverbs and older
religious songs. Such forms are also introduced into newer poems. Genitive forms of masculine nouns in singular
ending in -a, eg. lasa, stoła, klasztora, can be often found in rhymes. In plural examples of such forms include
old nominative forms of the lwi okrutni, ptacy, motylowie, accusatvic. eg. pany, sąsiady, ucznie, instrumental, eg.
panięty, dary, pióry; in conjugations the ending -m in the 1st person singular, eg. będziem, dajem, możem,
participles ending in -ony: wyciqgniony, zasloniony, zwiniony, more rarely: żywie, uciecze, biegą, będziewa,
grajęcy, etc. Mainly those older forms that have been preserved in proverbs and songs are used in poems.
