The literary output of J.A. Miniszewski, who died in 1863, nowadays forgotten, was produced in the period of the development of national romantic literature. Its characteristics are exemplary, in a sense, of the prose of minorum gentium writers. The subject matter of the article is determining the peculiar style of the narrator (called author-narrator here), the image of the protagonist, the arrangement of texts, and also defining the position of the recipient present in the texts as well as the authentic recipient of the 19th century. Miniszewski’s prose was intended to show the reader a direction of conduct thanks to the created role models and anti-models. The author, however, did not succeed in winning the nobility over to his ideals.en_EN
