The article deals with multidimensional connections of the artists from the Reduta Theatre, the leading theatre of Warsaw and Vilnius in the years 1919-1939, with the ideological and artistic tradition of Adam Mickiewicz.
The impact of social and ethical thought of the author of Oda do młodości and Dziady on the Reduta founders, that is Mieczysław Limanowski and Juliusz Osterwa was determined. A seminar study of the so-called Limanowski group of theatrical interpretation of the text of Dziady was analysed, as well as its influence on the formation of Reduta. In the context of the activity of Reduta followers, the study became the canon of their analytic attempts of drama.
The original statute of the Reduta was based on the idea of the Filomat Society and some of its organisational aspects.
The article also takes into account experimental settings of Oda do młodości at the Reduta Institute, considered by Stefan Żeromski, among others, to be an innovatory search for the theatrical implementation of poetry.
