Abstract
The article considers the ongoing process of globalization in the world economy. The author tries to answer the question: what is the process of globalization in the world economy based on and what results does it bring? To find the answer, some particular research issues had to be undertaken, namely: - the nature of the globalization processes - the formative factors of the process of globalization in the world economy - interrelations between globalization and regional integration - main levels/areas of globalization - effects and results of globalization in economy Having considered the above issues, the author defined the “pros” and “cons” of globalization in the world economy. To admit these points for and against globalization seems to be essential for the countries that arejto get into and adjust to the process of globalization, so that they could minimize its potential and real threats as well as benefit from it most successfully. As a result, some challenges for the state economic politics of such countries like Poland have been recognized. They include, among others, the process of integration of Poland with the EU that has just been initiated, and its realization in accordance with the ongoing globalization in the world economy.
