The article deals with the mutual relationships between philosophy and pedagogy in Poland in the years 1900-1939, which were demonstrated on three planes conventionally called institutional, opinion-making and theoretical. The first one was realised through the participation of philosophers in directing chairs of pedagogy; the second one concerned the issue of expressing opinions on candidates for head posts of university chairs; the third one, being most extensively discussed, combined theoretical motifs of philosophy and pedagogy. On the basis of the analysis of philosophers’ output, research areas were indicated in which philosophers undertook pedagogical studies. Philosophical insight about the subject of pedagogical research was presented, as well as views on ethical and cultural conditioning of personality development and pedeutological thought in the philosophical output. The article concludes with the comments on the impact of philosophy (philosophers) on the development of educational disciplines.en_EN
