In the paper the neuropsychological approach to investigation of individual determinants of human cognitive ability is outlined and discussed. This approach is represented, i.a., by J.E. Bogen, who in his works has drawn several conclusions from the hemisphere functional asymmetry discovered by R.W. Sperry and his team. In particular, Bogen distinguished three types of "hemisphericity", resp. task, individual and cultural ones. The discussed notion of hemisphericity is particularly useful for the idea of cognitive style. Several experiences mentioned in the paper seems to show the connection between individual preferences in choice of a given brain hemisphere (i.e. individual hemisphericity) and the appropriate cognitive style, which opens and interesting perspective for interdisciplinarly investigation of individual's cognitive activity.en_EN
