The article describe the laws and regime problematics in modern France. This article is
concentrated on problems which follow from regime – law nature and they are connected with
cohabitation politique situation, is that a situation when the executive authority is perform by
two persons standing on the opposite sides the of the political stage.
To illustrate this situation on top of the state, it is important to present the relations between
the President of the Republic and the prime minister, who’s standing on the top of the
government. Year 1986 brought authority collapse of Presidential monopoly. President, who
disposed almost all of authority in state was forced to share it with the second member of
executive – prime minister who’s an opposition leader.
Cohabitation has broken homogeneity of executive authority. It is shown how the
Constitution and state institutions reacted after 1986 to the situation of coexistence of two
political opponents.
