Blog, apart from other forms of personal account, such as memoirs, diary, or auto-por- trait, can be classified as autobiography in the narrow genre meaning of the term. The autobiographical pact means adopting towards the work a certain reception strategy connected with trusting the authority of the biographer, who attests to the authenticity of the construed narration. The notion of truth becomes replaced with the notion of authenticity, which does not require external references and can be based on the sphere of pure convictions, intuitions, and the author’s subjective interpretations. Thus, the autobiographical nature of blogs appears as a certain communication approach, and it is marked by intra-textual markers, such as: first person narration, auto-topic themes, or clear stylisation for the language of a diary, or a personal, often very intimate, confession. At the same time, the autobiographical nature of blogs is a certain artistic strategy relying on the referential pact and a specific intra-textual space. That latter does not study the relations of the text with the broad sphere of literary tradition, but it takes into consideration the extra-textual reality, to which the blog refers in various ways.
