Jak młodzi ludzie widzą swój kraj

Abstract

The authors of the paper are convinced about great cognitive and educational values of books: How I see my Country and Where and How 1 live and that is the reason that they try to acquaint them to Polish geography teachers. The mentioned books consist of letter collections which were written by 15 and 10 years old pupils (first in different languages, then they were translated into English). Contence of these letters is semigeographic characteristics of 28 countries – homelands of their authors. Translations of 8 letters only (because of the lack of place) are presented in the paper. They were written by 15 yrs old pupils. These examples may arouse interest of Polish pupils and on the other hand they may be used to exemplify different generalizations, they may also inspire preparing similar characteristics for different regions and places of Poland. Fragments of some of letters contain essential simplifications and that is why their use should be very careful.
