Walory środowiska przyrodniczego regionu krakowskiego i ich znaczenie w neutralizowaniu wpływów urbanizacyjnych

Abstract

Living in big cities, besides undeniable positives, brings lots of handicaps. They might be neutralized by recreational and tourist activities. Cracow and its surroundings possess differential elements of natural environment. This attribute has a great tourist value. By annotating evaluation degrees to individual components of the environment as: sculpture of the landscape, climate, hydrography and vegetation the spatial image of significance of this area for the needs of recreation have been worked out. Two geographical regions have been recognitioned as particularly essentional: Sowiniec Horst and Cracow Gate together with isolated horst hills and Cholerzyn Depression. In these regions you may actualize qualified forms of tourism (sailing, windsurfing, horse riding) as well as such forms which do not require special preparation: strolling, tramping. Areas located in the south of Cracow region are much less attractive because of strong anthropopressure. Components of natural environment should be treated as original values, fundamental for recreation and rest. However, the basic importance has the proper spatial organization of human behaviors being controled, among others, by appropriate recreation and tourist outfit.
