Miejska sieć osadnicza południowej Polski w okresie transformacji społeczno-gospodarczej kraju

Abstract

Urban settlement system of southern Poland and its structural and size changes after 1990 is the subject of the paper. The author analyses 91 cities from 7 voivodships what generally covers the right part of upper Vistula river basin. Population dynamics and changes in size structure of cities show that local centres with well-developed services, associated with agricultural surroundings, find their right place in settlement system easier than medium and large cities which are still in period of unstable social-economic and demographic changes.
