The author of the article presents the results of a questionnaire in which 95 teachers and teacher trainers (consulting
methodologists) involved in the experimental teaching of Russian in the 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th form of Polish basic (8-year) schools
took part.
The significant majority of respondents appraised the cardinal principles of the method enumerated in the questionnaire form
(between 92,6% and 100% positive answers) and stated that putting these principles into practice increased the effectiveness of
teaching/ learning process.
The respondents ascertained that the reproductive-creative method enabled students to achieve the “considerable improvement” in
learning pronunciation (100% answers), accentuation (92,6% answers), intonation (90,5% answers), vocabulary (92,6% answers),
grammar (80% answers), reading (92,6% answers), reproductive speaking (85,3% answers), productive speaking (63,5%
answers) and listening comprehension (77,9% answers). The “considerable improvement” in spelling and writing was stated only
by the minority of respondents (35% and 31,6% answers respectively).
In the rest of answers, the “minor improvement” was declared. Only two “no improvement” answers were given: one concerning

and its possible usefulness in teaching other foreign languages.
