Abstract

Polish antiquarian market is rife with all kinds of objects associated with Prince Józef Poniatowski, baptised by some “Pepiniany”, and for years they have been a part of the standard repertoire of auctioned items. Sometimes those are some rare and valuable objects, but the vast majority is relatively cheap; some of them (especially the most popular monographs) are also available on the broadly understood secondary market for books. Apart from typical library material, there are objects of different types, which complement the offer – porcelain figurines, coins, fabrics and others, which also fall within the scope of interest of bibliophiles, collecting items connected with Prince Józef Poniatowski or the napoleonic epoch in general.
