Nowadays upbringing, together with the values connected with it, is recognized as an essential part of education. The problem has been researched morę and morę often, but in most cases only generał system of values, independently of school context, is being concemed. That is the reason why in my investiga- tions I was looking for the answer which educational values are exposed in didactic theory and which are realized in educational practice. Therefore, I carried out theoretical studies, the analysis of press articles, the analysis of curricula and empirical research.1 In presented article I concentrated only on the results regarding importance attached to the educational values in school practice. As it proved, the answers of inquired teachers were meaningfully different from students’ ones.
