dc.description.abstract	The aim of the article is to analyze selected concepts regarding media effects and their interpretation in the context of contemporary phenomena related to the media. Reference was made, among others, to the theory of gatekeeping, the theory of information value, echo chamber, filter bubble, agenda setting and framing, and their roles were indicated, taking into account in particular the growing role of the Internet as a source of knowledge about the world as well as the reception of media content.	en
