Jacek Zaborski attempts to approach his own output in the field of lithography. Among others, he describes and
analyzes works from the years 1983-1995. At that time, as he points out, he was driven by a need to
commit himself to man and his fate which resulted in the choice of scenes depicting figures, or their fragments,
marked with the traces of historical dramas or stamps of natural erosion. These themes were continued in
a series of works from the years 1995-2003 dedicated to the figure of the Egyptian sphinx. After 2003 the
artist tried to free himself from figurativeness and the narrative drama of presentation. New artistic creations
appeared, based on the principles of autonomous repetitions and abstract shapes, other compositions stressed the
significance of the tool’s traces. The author stresses that his artistic output, in its visual layer, has been
transformed toward a greater simplicity and the reduction of the means of expression.
