In the first part of this article the author describes a book “Magiczne kamienie” (“Magic stones”) which engages its reader into some activities that are later on noted down in the form of a text and stone illustrations. The second of the presented books “Zabawa z Asią” (“Playing with Asia”) provides children and their parents with ideas of artistic games for all. Its proper reception is a kind of creation beyond the book, which aims at a shared family experience of artistic creation. The remaining books explored in the article are realized using the method of artistic workshops, e.g. the “Mandala” workshop activity generated a traditional folded book realized on paper. “Niebo-tyczne drzewo” (“A sky-high tree”) is a book that was created using the method of post art and street action. The book objects from the “Drzewa i kamienie” (“Trees and stones”) and “Jesienna książka” (“An autumn book”) workshops spread over the whole room and the walls of a big art gallery. “Książka z dziurami” (“A book with holes”) was created in a hospital with the help of children moving around in wheelchairs. “Książka o liściach” (“A book about leaves”) used leaves imprinted on paper and, similarly to many other objects from the series “Książki aktywne” (“Active books”) or “Książka w poszukiwaniu bez konieczności odnajdywania” (“A book about searching without the necessity of finding”) and “Ksiąga znaków Morza Bałtyckiego” (“A book of signs of the Baltic Sea”) took the folded form. In the next part of the article, the author describes the methods of creating books built of sculptural objects. During the creation of the book, the workshops’ animator presented books realized in a rural school as well as on the map of Poznań and in the parks of the capital city. The “Drzewo życia” (“The tree of life”) project crowns the description of the exemplary bookobjects which are a consequence of the initiated workshop processes. It includes paintings by the participants of a one-week process devoted to working on oneself and one’s own development.en
