The paper discusses the reception of Michael Ende’s works in Poland since
the publication of the Polish translation of his novel Momo in 1978. The analysis
focuses on the popularity of Ende’s works and the literary criticism of the
first translations. The paper also examines the role of Ende’s books in his human-
centered message.
