Combined classes as a way of organizing the school’s work are present in our reality for many years. According to the statistics, it is known that about 20% of Polish schools is constantly exploiting this form of education. Despite this, in my opinion, it is somewhat neglected by the Polish Ministry of National Education and the Polish academic research. In the recent time, on the wave of the occurrence firmly publicised in the media, of closing small country schools, more often than usually we could hear about reaching for a solution which is education in teams of different age – by directors of schools and authorities of communes. Therefore, it is important to think what opportunities this variant of education brings and how it is becoming a part of current directions of reflections about processes of learning and teaching. In my analysis, I will do it with reference to the first stage of education, early childhood education.en
