It is the author’s succeeding paper focused on linguistic description and analysis of the same child’s utterances
that were recorded before the examined girl was seven years old. The presented material contends that in course of
time and together with her improved communication skills the girl uses more and more varied linguistic means of
convincing, inference, and argumentation. To reach her aim she uses lexis (mainly volition verbs), syntax
(parataxis and hypotaxis; impersonal structures), prosody and gesticulation. By these means the speaker shows
different types of modality varying from supposition through conviction and certainty up to disapproval and irony.
Using these means makes a child a dialogue partner possessing equal rights in a verbal interaction with an adult.
