The synectic method developed in its classic form by William J.J. Gordon and presented in the treatise Synectics. The Development of Creative Capacity (New York 1961) covers the broadly understood theory and methodology of creative work, which is based on combining pre-existing, separate components (Greek syn ‘together’ + ectics ‘various elements’). The biggest advantage of synectics is the use of metaphorical thinking and the game of associations, by analogy to understanding the problem and developing an effective solution in the form of cognitive activities involving the search of similarities between elements of a sentence and the analogous objects and phenomena occurring in reality, which gives the basis to develop and search for new solutions, their valuation and assessment.en
