dc.description.abstractThe paper refers to the problem of awareness and various relationships between awareness and language as well as education. Analyzing the process of language acquisition and education, educational linguistics introduces the notion of linguodidactic competence that enables to describe and explain linguistic phenomena (explicit knowledge). For metalinguistic awareness as one of aspects of linguistic awareness indicates the possibility of expressing opinions about language, it should be acknowledged as an essential component of linguodidactic competence.en
