dc.description.abstract | The paper deals with sports terminology. The choice of terms demonstrates that a significant part of vocabulary in
this field has been borrowed, almost entirely from English. This fact is connected with the European sports history
in the 19th century and the formation of professional sports (not analyzed in detail), as well as with the
emergence of sports clubs and the formation of sports rules and regulations concerning the organization of
competitions. | en |
