dc.description.abstract | The following article is about how the European context of education has changed the polish
education, especially the language used to explain the process of teaching polish language as
a native language. In polish education the word skills was used to name the pupils abilities in
the language area. The language of education was changed after the Polish accession to the
European Union. In the Core Curriculum appeared the new word for skills – competence. Since
than in the educational discourse we can found many different competences, for example
communication competence, language competence, cultural competence, sociolinguistic
competence and other. In the past and in present time there is an intensive discussion around
them connected to different meanings and proposals to combine them, name new or even
complete removal of language education. The discussion between researchers working in the
field of education and the linguistics is the part of the text. In the last Core Curriculum (and in
the actual project of the next one) the authors did not used the word competence. | en |
