The aim of teaching every school subject is on the one hand to acquire some basic knowledge, and on the other hand to develop one's cognitive interest in the relevant field. A dialogue between the parties involved in the process is a convenient didactic tool. In teaching practice it commonly involves questioning by the teacher. In this paper we discuss various types of questions and their role in teaching, in particular with regard to the teaching of the Polish language and mathematics on different levels of education.en
