Social development is a process that depends on a number of factors and undergoes various changes. Undoubtedly, emotional bonds with family members and other people constitute an important element of that process. Mechanisms of the influence of the attachment bonds on people with profound intellectual disability are not entirely known and require further analysis. The article presents research that aimed to find relations between the attachment experienced by intellectually disabled people and their social behaviour. The relations described in the paper are particularly significant in programming early influences on people with profound intellectual disability.en
