The aim of special education of people with multiple disabilities is to stimulate and support the developmental changes and the progress of the process of learning and developing the personality of an individual. It is important to create a positive environment that prompts an individual to manifestations and actions based on conditional-reflexive activities and thereby to active learning. Even people with profound multiple disabilities have a possibility to independently explore the environment, gather experiences and develop information, abilities and skills. There is always a space between the genetic limit and the real level of capabilities which can be entered and influenced by special interventional methods. One of these methods is music therapy. The article presents the results of research, shows the influence of music therapy on the development of personality of individuals with multiple disabilities in the field of information, social communication, motor skills, the ability to carry out basic activities and activities connected with self-care. The rule that music induces positive reactions pertains to every person. From the pedagogical point of view, these reactions can be defined as influencing the mood of an individual. Musicotherapeutic actions make it possible for an individual to find his or her place in the society (Gajdošíková, 2005).en
