The authors of the article analyse – on the basis of their own professional experiences as school psychologists – different stages of the development of a disabled child from the perspective of the parents’ behaviour and the methods of supporting them, with regard to an individual approach to the diverse problems of each family. Every admittance of a child to school opens a new relation between the institution and family. It refers particularly to a disable child due to his or her specific, individual needs, exceptional life history and parental expectations. The relation provides each party with a possibility of development and therapists learn how to expand it for many years.en
