History is one of the subjects that are particularly „unfriendly” for people with multiple disabilities. It is
difficult to experimentally present the causes or effects of important events, go back in time and taste the life
in the Middle Age town or manor house. Numerous museums, crypts or bell towers are beyond the reach of the vehicles
of people with motor disability.
A student can familiarize with events from the past by interpreting the feelings of the heroes participating in
these events. Such an approach makes it possible to introduce methods connected with experiencing.
History is an experience of the past. I believe that it will be easier for us to understand events from the past if
we look at them not only by learning a fact, memorizing a date but by attempting to interpret the emotions of
people who wrote on the empty pages of history. Our students, in spite of immense difficulties with memorization,
drawing conclusions and analysis can experience and interpret emotions of others in an incredible way. The material
world constantly evolves but the way of experiencing joy, anger, fear and pride has been the same for centuries.
