The article is devoted to the issue of preparing students with multiple disabilities to the adulthood life. It presents the results of our own research conducted on a group of 24 graduates – contemporarily of age with different levels of motor and intellectual disabilities. It presents a critical confrontation of the aims of preparing for the adult life present in the school educational programmes with the real career paths of the graduates who experienced considerable changes of living conditions after leaving school. The conclusions of the research point to an important role of social support but also to the need of professional psychological help for people with multiple disabilities dealing with the challenges of their difficult adulthood.en
