Abstract

In Poland, thanks to the great involvement of parents of intellectually disabled children and the activities of non-governmental organizations, practical solutions have been implemented to address the housing problem of people with intellectual disabilities. The problem of improving the housing conditions of people with intellectual disabilities is one of the very important basic areas of standardization. Protected housing is an alternative to the Social Welfare Houses. For people with intellectual disabilities, this is a chance for a dignified, independent life to suit their individual capabilities.
