Nowadays, adolescents in their free time read mainly fantasy, thrillers or romances (especially those paranormal ones about vampires), from time to time other novels. At school they are made to read set books, but most often they do not do it. Therefore, students of Polish philology, in teams of 2 to 3 members, tried to prepare series of lessons focused on reading a contemporary novel of manners. After research, the group has chosen a novel (not from list of obligatory ones), expected to be interesting for the young (also for boys), describing their problems and depicting the contemporary world. The project is divided into four main parts. The first part introduces pupils into issue of home. The second part focuses on family, its meaning, the roles of all members and the models of family life, present in the contemporary world. The third part describes a field of stereotypes, both in our language and in our thinking. The last part emphasizes the importance and the seriousness of teenagers’ perception of themselves and of their lives, it also looks for and proposes some solutions for different problems of the young. In the article the authors make use of some methodical and didactical tips from the series of students’ and teachers’ books To lubię! In the project, attention has also been placed on the methods of learning, which are very diverse, including development of skills such as: thinking, sensing, talking, reading and writing.en
