dc.description.abstractThe Commission of National Education is the first state educational authority in Poland and Europe. It was acting in the second half of the eighteenth century, for a period of more than twenty years (1773–1794). It was the sort of phenomenon in the European history, which achievements permanently contributed to the development of subsequent educational activities. The object of the paper is to present the state of research on the Greaterpoland Department of The Commission of National Education. This region does not have a comprehensive study presenting the Greaterpoland Department of The Commission of National Education. There are however a number of concerning this issue in part. The most important researchers in this field in the past were Teodor Wierzbowski i Stefan Truchim, and now – Dorota Żołądź-Strzelczyk.en_EN
