„Piszę Panu wszystko, cokolwiek mu być może potrzebne…” : u początków działalności organizacyjnej Jana Śniadeckiego

Abstract

Author on basis of research of egodocuments – correspondence, autobiography of Jan Śniadecki and memoirs of Michał Baliński – discusses the beginning of an organizational activities of Jan Śniadecki at the Jagiellonian University. Article argues that during this period Śniadecki, as a supporter of reforms carried out by The Commission of National Education, is in the sphere of influence of Hugo Kołłątaj and becomes his party in Cracow. In addition, by analysing events from the years 1781–1782 author reconstructs world of values, internal states and the language of the young Śniadecki. These differ significantly from what we know from the books dedicated to famous astronomer.
