Skłodowska-Curie. Kulturowy portret z subwersją w tle

Abstract

In the article with help of cultural analysis tools – mostly categories of discourse and subversion – was presented an image of Marie Skłodowska- -Curie. She seems to be a very modern person, fully aware of cultural discourses in which she existed; creative woman who was able to change these discourses successfully, subversively “turn them over”. All major plans in which Polish scientist were functioning – plans of national identity discourse, science and university work and finally gender discourse – were redefined by her, adapted to her own needs, often contrary to existing rules.
