Zagadnienie świadomości językowej w literaturze językoznawczej

Abstract

The article briefly discusses the understanding of the notion of language awareness in view of linguistic literature (specialised dictionaries, encyclopedias, articles and other academic texts). It is apparent in linguistic literature that the notion of language awareness is frequently identified with the concepts of language competence, intuition and sense. The research on language awareness goes towards determining its level (the condition of language awareness), evolution (alterations, changeability), scope of language reflection. In spite of the postulate of an extensive research over the language awareness among various groups of Polish native speakers, still not much is known about it among contemporary Poles.
