Abstract

The paper is the result of study of the language used in documents of political police of PRL (Polish People’s Republic). Militiamen employed working in communication gender of denunciation giving it a new form and a new function. The changes were followed by endeavour of intentional change of the name aiming at neutralization of negative evaluation of denunciation and developing a social attitude of approval of spying. Linguistic features of denunciation make it similar to report and biography. However its specific structure allows to distinguish denunciation. Its composition is stable and the constitutive element is a denunciation of an informer. The number and kind of obligatory parts depend on whether and how the information included in a document may be used further. The separate character of the genre depends on non-linguistic factors: secrecy, functioning in a closed circle, the power of causing repression of somebody.
