This text presents the main directions of Adam Dziurzyński's work in the field of the teaching of biology.
At first A. Dziurzyński worked for 27 years as a biology teacher in one high grammar school and also for 11 years
as a supervision of other biology teachers in their service - training.
Later he was a prominent educator and mentor of students - future biology teachers.
He was the author of a biology handbook and also of some books and many articles concerning the teaching of
botany, zoology, plant physiology, animal physiology and human-physiology as well.
He concentrated especially on issues of laboratory work and field work.
In these articles A. Dziurzyński views concerned with the work of a biology teacher and teaching of biology in
general were expressed.
A. Dziurzyński’s influence on the development of biology instruction in Poland has also been discussed.
