The usefulness of recitation in the didactics of Polish studies depends upon the assignation of the connexion between the art of spoken word and the theory of literature. The realization of a text on the phonic plane provides it with new means of expression based not on the text itself but on the thoughts it contains. A writing does not imply explicit indications for its vocal realization. Its personalization is necessary. Recitation is a result of intellectual efficiency supported by a specific technique of speech. The awakening of imagination and adequate mobilization of emotions are also necessary since it is a confrontation of the conclusions of an analysis with a set of values accepted by a reciter. A subjective, artistic interpretation of a work should not however be a base for its analysis in school practice. Reading a text aloud combined with the understanding of its meaning but deprived of any unmotivated emotional colouring may, on the other hand, perform a didactic function. The author calls this contact with a text its vocal concretization which he proposes to accept as the subject of all the analyses. He supports his views with interdisciplinary arguments and indicates the need of a complementary approach to the problem. The culture of spoken word realized as an object of Polish studies must "enliven, animate" a work exhibiting all its potentional planes of concretization. This will permit us to use the perception of a work, duly directed emotionally, as a didactic instrument.en_EN
