dc.description.abstract1) There is a growing need for understanding the essence of creative thinking, and within this scope – intuitive thinking. 2) Special character of intuitive thinking can be understood better if we point out its distinctive characteristics pertaining to the process of transformation of information, the results of such thinking and the conditions in which it arises. 3) Special character of intuitive thinking is described by means of the following adjectives: alogical, unconscious, non-verbal, jerky, multidirectional. 4) The result of such thinking is described as conjecture or hypothesis. In other words the result is non- conclusive, but primary, provisional, temporal, etc. 5) Not everybody is gifted with the ability of intuitive thinking, it occurs in some people only. It can take place in special conditions (situations). 6) This kind of thinking, though ’imperfect’, is very important, especially in creative work. 7) Until recently there haven’t been any methods of investigation of intuitive thinking. In the paper test ’I’ will be presented, as well as preliminary results of investigation involving creative and left-handed pupils.en_EN
